First Day!

After 14 hours of flight i finally touched down in Marseilles and was greeted by my host family. There were many rotary students on practically all of my flights which made that bulk of the travelling quite a bit easier. Once i was greeted by my host family, we picked up my bags and started the relatively short drive back to their house in Montfort. During the drive up i had a chance to ask some questions and get to know my new family and they are all great. They know minimal english, which doesn't give me the opportunity to slack off in my French progress, and they were all very friendly in welcoming me into their family. my host mother's parents were over on vacation so i had the pleasure of meeting them and getting to know a couple of other relatives and friends of my new family. Even though i know that i won't be home for another 11 months, i don't think it has truly hit me yet.

  1. Just remember, wherever you are and whatever you do, you are an awesome young man. You are smart and capable in English and you will get to be that way in French, even if in the beginning you feel like a dummy....you are brilliant!! We are going to miss you mucho and we expect frequent blog entries!!!
